In April 2016, Palliative Care Center was established in the Cancer Care Center in order to accommodate increasing cancer patients as well as to improve convenience of the patients.
There is a specialty outpatient clinic to examine cancer outpatients on the dedicated floor separately from regular outpatient clinics.

Fukui Prefectural Hospital is one of the regional core centers for cancer treatment, designated by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as central players of cancer treatment for each prefecture.
We undertake a role of employing specialized staff members, practicing combined modality therapy, providing treatment for mild symptoms and second opinions, as well as establishing a cooperation system with community hospitals and clinics.
We established the Cancer Counselling & Support Center and provide training for and report to the prefectural government. We also oversee the cooperation system and the counselling/support system.
